Are you wondering about questions like these: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Who is the Holy Spirit? Why is the Bible worth reading?
Or are you reflecting on something else related to Christianity?

Now you have the opportunity to reflect, ask questions, doubt, and learn the basics of the Christian faith.
Alpha course sessions begin with a shared meal. After that, we watch an introductory video on a theme related to Christianity. Finally, the topic is discussed together in small groups.

Welcome to the Alpha course at the Joensuu Parish Centre starting on 1 October 2026.
The Alpha course meets at the Parish Centre (Kirkkokatu 28, entrance from the Yläsatamakatu side) at the following times:

In connection with the Alpha course, you can also complete adult confirmation instruction if you wish to join the Evangelical Lutheran Church. In that case, two additional meetings will be arranged alongside Alpha.

You can sign up for the Alpha course even if you are not yet sure whether you want to participate in the entire course. If Alpha does not feel like the right thing for you, you are free to stop attending at any point during the course.
