International activities are available for everyone
Everyone is warmly welcome to join in the activities of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Membership of the church is not required for participation in parish activities.
At Noljakka Church, the order of the service is in English on PowerPoint and we also use English subtitles. Other activities are also organized. Below you can see list of coming up events in English. You can also follow our Facebook-site, link below. You can reach church workers via phone, WhatsApp and email. If you have questions, need help or just want to talk with someone; do not hesitate to contact us.
In Joensuu, there are activities also in Russian, mostly in the Rantakylä parish and there's a mass in German once a year, organized by Finnish-German Society.
Want to join the church?
A person becomes a member of the Christian church through Holy Baptism. Baptism is a sacrament of the church. If you would like to become a member of the church as an adult, you will need to take part in adult confirmation instruction. After completion, you will be confirmed and also baptized, if you have not been baptized earlier. If you're interested, please, take contact to local parish. If you have Finnish online banking codes or mobile certificate for identification you can also fill membership application online at https://liitykirkkoon.fi/#/en. Then your local parish will contact you about your membership process.
Alpha Course
Alpha is a friendly and open space where everyone is welcome to explore life's big questions, share perspectives, and discover more about the Christian faith. No pressure. No judgment. Just honest conversations over food and community. Alpha course began in Britain and is run around the world by various Christian denominations. Joensuu Luthreran churches organise Alpha courses both in English and in Finnish. The next Alpha course begins in October 1st.
